ॐ जय गंगाधर जय हर जय गिरिजाधीशा ।
त्वं मां पालय नित्यं कृपया जगदीशा ॥ 
ॐ हर हर महादेव

Glory to Hara, Bearer of the Ganges. Glory to Shiva, Lord of Girija and Gauri. By your grace, Lord of the World, protect me forever.

कैलासे गिरिशिखरे कल्पद्रमविपिने ।
गुंजति मधुकरपुंजे कुंजवने गहने ॥

ॐ हर हर महादेव
कोकिलकूजित खेलत हंसावन ललिता ।
रचयति कलाकलापं नृत्यति मुदसहिता ॥
ॐ हर हर महादेव

On Mount Kailas is a forest of wish-fulfilling trees, bees that make a sweet humming sound, cukoos sing and beautiful swans sport there. Peacocks spread their plumes and dance with joy.

तस्मिंल्ललितसुदेशे शाला मणिरचिता ।
तन्मध्ये हरनिकटे गौरी मुदसहिता ॥

ॐ हर हर महादेव

क्रीडा रचयति भूषारंचित निजमीशम्‌ ।
इंद्रादिक सुर सेवत नामयते शीशम्‌ ॥
ॐ हर हर महादेव

In that pleasant spot is a mansion bedecked with precious stones. There, Gauri plays near Hara (Shiva), and pleases her Lord with her adornments.

बिबुधबधू बहु नृत्यत नामयते मुदसहिता ।
किन्नर गायन कुरुते सप्त स्वर सहिता ॥
ॐ हर हर महादेव

धिनकत थै थै धिनकत मृदंग वादयते ।
क्वण क्वण ललिता वेणुं मधुरं नाटयते॥
ॐ हर हर महादेव

The wives of the Gods dance there, their hearts filled with joy. The celestial musicians sing melodies, the drums and flute produce sweet sounds.

रुण रुण चरणे रचयति नूपुरमुज्ज्वलिता ।
चक्रावर्ते भ्रमयति कुरुते तां धिक तां ॥
ॐ हर हर महादेव


तां तां लुप चुप तां तां डमरू वादयते ।
अंगुष्ठांगुलिनादं लासकतां कुरुते 
ॐ हर हर महादेव

The shining anklets with small bells make a jingling sound, the damsels, forming circles, sing and dance making sweet sounds with the clapping of their hands and snapping of the thumb and middle fingers.

कपूर्रद्युतिगौरं पंचाननसहितम्‌ ।
त्रिनयनशशिधरमौलिं विषधरकण्ठयुतम्‌ ॥
ॐ हर हर महादेव


सुन्दरजटायकलापं पावकयुतभालम्‌ ।
डमरुत्रिशूलपिनाकं करधृतनृकपालम्‌ ॥ 
ॐ हर हर महादेव

O Shiva, You have the luster of shining camphor. You have five heads, three eyes, and the moon on Your crest. You have a serpent round Your neck. You have beautiful braided hair on Your head. Your forehead is adorned with fire. You hold the damaru (small drum), the trident, and the bow pinaka. You hold a human skull in Your hand.

मुण्डै रचयति माला पन्नगमुपवीतम्‌ ।
वामविभागे गिरिजारूपं अतिललितम्‌ ॥
ॐ हर हर महादेव


सुन्दरसकलशरीरे कृतभस्माभरणम्‌ ।
इति वृषभध्वजरूपं तापत्रयहरणं ॥ 
ॐ हर हर महादेव

You adorn Yourself with a garland of skulls and wear a serpent as the sacred thread. Parvati is at Your left side. Your form is very beautiful. Your whole body is smeared with ashes. You have a bull in your banner. O Hara, the beneficial Bestower of bliss! You remove all miseries.

शंखनिनादं कृत्वा झल्लरि नादयते ।
नीराजयते ब्रह्मा वेदऋचां पठते ॥
ॐ हर हर महादेव

अतिमृदुचरणसरोजं हृत्कमले धृत्वा ।
अवलोकयति महेशं ईशं अभिनत्वा ॥
ॐ हर हर महादेव

The conch shell is blown; the metallic drum resounds. Brahma and Vishnu are waving lights and reciting the Vedic hymns before You. Thus having hailed His soft lotus feet and having bowed down to the Lord, one gazes steadily at the great God and at the Lord of gods with beneficience.

ध्यानं आरति समये हृदये अति कृत्वा ।
रामस्त्रिजटानाथं ईशं अभिनत्वा ॥
ॐ हर हर महादेव

संगतिमेवं प्रतिदिन पठनं यः कुरुते ।
शिवसायुज्यं गच्छति भक्त्या यः श्रृणुते ॥
ॐ हर हर महादेव

We meditate upon You, who sport in the hearts of devotees and who are the Lord of Trijata. We bow down to you the Lord. One who daily recites this song and one who hears it with devotion attains oneness with Shiva.

बगलामुखी कवचम् – Bagalamukhi Kavacham

अथ बगलामुखी कवचम्

श्रुत्वा च बगलापूजां स्तोत्रं चापि महेश्वर ।

इदानी श्रोतुमिच्छामि कवचं वद मे प्रभो ॥ १ ॥
वैरिनाशकरं दिव्यं सर्वाSशुभविनाशनम् ।
शुभदं स्मरणात्पुण्यं त्राहि मां दु:खनाशनम् ॥२॥
श्रीभैरव उवाच :
कवचं शृणु वक्ष्यामि भैरवीप्राणवल्लभम् ।
पठित्वा धारयित्वा तु त्रैलोक्ये विजयी भवेत् ॥३॥
ॐ अस्य श्री बगलामुखीकवचस्य नारद ऋषि: ।
अनुष्टप्छन्द: । बगलामुखी देवता । लं बीजम् ।
ऐं कीलकम् पुरुषार्थचष्टयसिद्धये जपे विनियोग: ।
ॐ शिरो मे बगला पातु हृदयैकाक्षरी परा ।
ॐ ह्ली ॐ मे ललाटे च बगला वैरिनाशिनी ॥१॥
Shiro may Bagla patu hriday may kakch ri para.
Om hreem om may lalate ch Bagla vairi nashinee [1]

गदाहस्ता सदा पातु मुखं मे मोक्षदायिनी ।
वैरिजिह्वाधरा पातु कण्ठं मे वगलामुखी ॥२॥
Gada hastaa sadaa paatu mukham may moksha daayinee.
Vairi jihwaadharam paatu kantham may Baglamukhi [2]

उदरं नाभिदेशं च पातु नित्य परात्परा ।
परात्परतरा पातु मम गुह्यं सुरेश्वरी ॥३॥
Udaram nabhidesham ch paatunityam paraatparaa.
paraat partaraa paatu mamguhayam sureshwaree [3]

हस्तौ चैव तथा पादौ पार्वती परिपातु मे ।
विवादे विषमे घोरे संग्रामे रिपुसङ्कटे ॥४॥
Hastau chaiv tatha paadau Paarvatee paripaatumay.
Vivaaday vishmay ghoray sangramay ripu sankatay [4]

पीताम्बरधरा पातु सर्वाङ्गी शिवनर्तकी ।
श्रीविद्या समय पातु मातङ्गी पूरिता शिवा ॥५॥

Peetambardharaa paatu sarvangay Shivnartakee.
Shrividya samayaa paatu maatangee puritashivaa [5]

पातु पुत्रं सुतांश्चैव कलत्रं कालिका मम ।
पातु नित्य भ्रातरं में पितरं शूलिनी सदा ॥६॥
Paatu putram sutam chaiv kalatram Kaalikaa mam.
Paatu nityam bhraatram may pitram shoolinee sadaa [6]

रंध्र हि बगलादेव्या: कवचं मन्मुखोदितम् ।
न वै देयममुख्याय सर्वसिद्धिप्रदायकम् ॥ ७॥
Randhrey hi baglaa devyaah kavacham manmukhoditam.
Naiv deyam mukhyaaya sarvasiddhi paradaayakam [7]

पाठनाद्धारणादस्य पूजनाद्वाञ्छतं लभेत् ।
इदं कवचमज्ञात्वा यो जपेद् बगलामुखीम् ॥८॥

Pathnaadhaarnaa dasya poojana dwanchitah labhet.
Idam kavacham gyatvaa yo japed Baglamukhem [8]

पिवन्ति शोणितं तस्य योगिन्य: प्राप्य सादरा: ।
वश्ये चाकर्षणो चैव मारणे मोहने तथा ॥९॥
Pibati shonitam tasya yoginayah praapya saadaraah.
Vashye chaakarshanay chaiv maarnay mohanay tathaa [9]

महाभये विपत्तौ च पठेद्वा पाठयेत्तु य: ।
तस्य सर्वार्थसिद्धि: स्याद् भक्तियुक्तस्य पार्वति ॥१०॥
Mahaabhaye vipattau ch pathedwa paathyettu yah.
tasya sarvaarth siddhih syaad bhakti yuktasya Paarvati [10]


इति श्रीरुद्रयामले बगलामुखी कवचं सम्पूर्णम्
Iti Shri Rudrayaamalay baglamukhee kavacham Sampoornam.

शिवाष्टकं Shivashtakam

शिवाष्टकं

प्रभुं प्राणनाथं विभुं विश्वनाथं जगन्नाथनाथं सदानन्दभाजाम् । 

भवद्भव्यभूतेश्वरं भूतनाथं शिवं शङ्करं शम्भुमीशानमीडे ॥ १ ॥ 

I pray You, Śiva, Śańkara, Śambhu, Who is the Lord, Who is the Lord of our lives, Who is Vibhu, Who is the Lord of the world, Who is the Lord of Viṣṇu (Jagannātha), Who is always dwelling in happiness, Who imparts light or shine to everything, Who is the Lord of living beings, Who is the Lord of ghosts, and Who is the Lord of everyone.||1||

गले रुण्डमालं तनौ सर्पजालं महाकालकालं गणेशाधिपालम् । 

जटाजूटभङ्गोत्तरङ्गैर्विशालं शिवं शङ्करं शम्भुमीशानमीडे ॥ २ ॥ 

I pray You, Śiva, Śańkara, Śambhu, Who has a garland of skull around the neck, Who has a net of snakes around His body, Who is the destroyer of the immense-destroyer Kāla, Who is the lord of Gaṇeśa, Whose matted-hair are spread-out by the presence of the waves of Gańgā falling on His head, and Who is the Lord of everyone.||2||

मुदामाकरं मण्डनं मण्डयन्तं महामण्डल भस्मभूषधरंतम् । 

अनादिह्यपारं महामोहहारं शिवं शङ्करं शम्भुमीशानमीडे ॥ ३ ॥ 

I pray You, Śiva, Śańkara, Śambhu, Who scatters happiness [in the world], Who is ornating the universe, Who is the immense universe Himself, Who is possessing the adornment of ashes, Who is without a beginning, Who is without a measure, Who removes the greatest attachments, and Who is the Lord of everyone.||3||

तटाधो निवासं महाट्टाट्टहासं महापापनाशं सदासुप्रकाशम् । 

गिरीशं गणेशं महेशं सुरेशं शिवं शङ्करं शम्भुमीशानमीडे ॥ ४ ॥ 

I pray You, Śiva, Śańkara, Śambhu, Who resides below a Vaṭa (Banyan) tree, Who possesses an immense laughter, Who destroys the greatest sins, Who is always resplendent, Who is the Lord of Himālaya, various tormentor-groups (Gaṇa) and the demi-gods, Who is the great Lord, and Who is the Lord of everyone.||4||

गिरिन्द्रात्मजासंग्रहीतार्धदेहं गिरौ संस्थितं सर्वदा सन्नगेहम् । 

परब्रह्मब्रह्मादिभिर्वन्ध्यमानं शिवं शङ्करं शम्भुमीशानमीडे ॥ ५ ॥ 

I pray You, Śiva, Śańkara, Śambhu, Who shares half of His body with the daughter of Himālaya¹, Who is situated in a mountain (Kailāsa), Who is always a resort for the depressed, Who is the Ātman, Who is reverred by (or Who is worthy of reverence by) Brahma and others, and Who is the Lord of everyone.||5||

कपालं त्रिशूलं कराभ्यां दधानं पदाम्भोजनम्राय कामं ददानम् । 

बलीवर्दयानं सुराणां प्रधानं शिवं शङ्करं शम्भुमीशानमीडे ॥ ६ ॥ 

I pray You, Śiva, Śańkara, Śambhu, Who holds a skull and a trident in the hands, Who endows the desires of those who are humble to His lotus-feet, Who uses an Ox as a vehicle², Who is supreme and above various demi-gods, and Who is the Lord of everyone.||6||

शरच्चन्द्रगात्रं गुणानन्द पात्रं त्रिनेत्रं पवित्रं धनेशस्य मित्रम् । 

अपर्णाकलत्रं चरित्रं विचित्रं शिवं शङ्करं शम्भुमीशानमीडे ॥ ७ ॥ 

I pray You, Śiva, Śańkara, Śambhu, Who has a face like the Winter-moon, Who is the subject of happiness of Gaṇa (tormentor groups), Who has three eyes, Who is pure, Who is the friend of Kubera (controller of wealth), Who is the consort of Aparṇā (Pārvatī), Who has eternal characteristics, and Who is the Lord of everyone.||7||

हरं सर्पहारं चिता भूविहारं भवं वेदसारं सदा निर्विकारम् । 

श्मशाने वदन्तं मनोजं दहन्तं शिवं शङ्करं शम्भुमीशानमीडे ॥ ८ ॥ 

I pray You, Śiva, Śańkara, Śambhu, Who is known as Hara, Who has a garland of snakes, Who roams around the cremation grounds, Who is the universe, Who is the summary of the Veda (or the One discussed by Veda), Who is always dispassionate, Who is living in the cremation grounds, Who is burning desires born in the mind, and Who is the Lord of everyone.||8||

स्तवं यः प्रभाते नरः शूलपाणे पठेत् सर्वदा भर्गभावानुरक्तः । 

स पुत्रं धनं धान्यमित्रं कलत्रं विचित्रं समासाद्य मोक्षं प्रयाति ॥ ९ ॥

Those who study this prayer every morning with effulgence and emotions for Trident-holding Śiva, achieve Mokṣa, after having attained a dutiful son, wealth, friends, wife, and a colorful life.||9||

श्रीगणेशाय नमः ।
देवराजसेव्यमानपावनांघ्रिपंकजं । व्यालयज्ञसूत्रमिंदुशेखरं कृपाकरम् ॥
नारदादियोगिवृन्दवन्दितं दिगंबर । काशिकापुराधिनाथकालभैरवं भजे ॥१॥
भानुकोटिभास्वरं भावाब्धितारकं परं । नीलकण्ठमीप्सितार्थदायकं त्रिलोचनम् ॥
कालकालमम्बुजाक्षमक्षशूलमक्षरं । काशिकापुराधिनाथकालभैरवं भजे ॥२॥
शूलटंकपाशदण्डपाणिमादिकारणं । श्यामकायमादिदेवमक्षरं निरामयम् ॥
भीमविक्रमं प्रभुं विचित्रतांडवप्रियं । काशिकापुराधिनाथकालभैरवं भजे ॥३॥
भुक्तिमुक्तिदायकं प्रशस्तलोकविग्रहं । भक्तवत्सलं स्थितं समस्तलोकविग्रहं ।
विनिक्कणन्मनोज्ञहेमकिंकिणीलसत्कटिं । काशिकापुराधिनाथकालभैरवं भजे ॥४॥
धर्मसेतुपालकं त्वधर्ममार्गनाशकं । कर्मपाशमोचकं सुशर्मदायकं विभुं ॥
स्वर्णवर्णशेषपाशशोभितांगमण्डलं । काशिकापुराधिनाथकालभैरवं भजे ॥५॥
रत्न५पादुकाप्रभाभिरामपादयुग्मकं । नित्यमद्वितीयमिष्टदैवतं निरंजनम् ॥
मृत्युदर्पनाशनं करालदंष्ट्रमोक्षणं । काशिकापुराधिनाथकालभैरवं भजे ॥६॥
अट्टाहासभिन्नपद्मजाण्डकोशसंततिं । दृष्टिपातनष्टपापजालमुग्रशासनं ॥
अष्टसिद्धिदायकं कपालमालिकाधरं । काशिकापुराधिनाथकालभैरवं भजे ॥७॥
भूतसंघनायकं विशालकीर्तिदायकं । काशिवासलोकपुण्यपापशोधकं विभुं ॥
नीतिमार्गकोविदं पुरातनं जगत्पतिं । काशिकापुराधिनाथकालभैरवं भजे ॥८॥
कालभैरवाष्टकं पठन्ति ये मनोहरं । ज्ञानमुक्तिसाधनं विचित्रपुण्यवर्धनं ॥
शोकमोहदैन्यलोभकोपतापनाशनम् । प्रयान्ति कालभैरवांघ्रिसन्निधि नरा ध्रुोवम् ॥९॥

॥इति श्रीमच्छङ्कराछचार्यविरचितं कालभैरवाष्टकम् सम्पूर्णम्॥

Translation
Deva raja sevya mana pavangri pankajam,
Vyala yagna suthra mindu shekaram krupakaram,
Naradadhi yogi vrundha vandhitham digambaram,
Kasika puradhi nadha Kalabhairavam bhaje. 1

I salute Kalabhairava, the lord of the city of Kasi,
Whose lotus like feet is being served by Devendra,
Who is merciful and wears the moon on his forehead ,
Who wears a snake as his sacred thread,
Who wears the different directions as his cloth,
And who is worshipped by sages like Narada.

Bhanu koti bhaswaram, bhavabdhi tharakam param,
Neelakanda meepsidartha dayakam trilochanam,
Kalakala mambujaksha maksha soola maksharam,
Kasika puradhi nadha Kalabhairavam bhaje. 2

I salute Kalabhairava, the lord of the city of Kasi,
Who shines like billions of suns,
Who helps us cross this miserable ocean of life,
Who is supreme and has a blue neck,
Who has three eyes and grants us our desires,
Who is the death to the God of death*,
Who has lotus flower like eyes,
Who has the undefeatable trident,
And who does not have decay.
* could also be translated as death to the time.

 
Soola tanga pasa danda pani madhi karanam,
Syama kaya madhi devamaksharam niramayam,
Bheema vikramam prabhum vichithra thandava priyam,
Kasika puradhi nadha Kalabhairavam bhaje. 3

 
I salute Kalabhairava, the lord of the city of Kasi,
Who has a spear, a chord and a stick as weapons,
Who is black in colour and the primeval cause,
Who is deathless and the first God,
Who is free from decay and ill health,
Who is the Lord who is a great hero,
And who likes the special vigorous thandava*

 *dance with male’s vigorous movements. .
 
Bhukthi mukthi dayakam prasashtha charu vigraham,
Bhaktha vatsalam shivam* , samastha loka vigraham,
Vinikwanan manogna hema kinkini lasath kateem,
Kasika puradhi nadha Kalabhairavam bhaje. 4

 I salute Kalabhairava, the lord of the city of Kasi,
Who fulfills desires and also grants salvation,
Who is well known for his pretty mien,
Who is a form of Shiva ,who loves his devotees,
Who is the God of the entire world, 
Who assumes various forms,
And who has a golden waist thread,
On which jingling bells are tied.
* Another version mentions as Stitham –the one who is static.

Dharma sethu palakam, thwa dharma marga nasakam,
Karma pasa mochakam , susharma dayakam vibhum,
Swarna varna sesha pasa shobithanga mandalam,
Kasika puradhi nadha Kalabhairavam bhaje. 5

 I salute Kalabhairava, the lord of the city of Kasi,
Who maintains the bridge of dharma in life,
Who destroys paths which are not right,
Who saves us from the ties of Karma,
Who is the lord who makes us ashamed ,
When trying to do wrong things,
Who has a shining body because of golden rope ,
With bells tied in various places.

Rathna padukha prabhabhirama padayugmakam,
Nithyamadwidheeyamishta daivatham niranjanam,
Mrutyu darpa nasanam karaladamshtra mokshanam,
Kasika puradhi nadha Kalabhairavam bhaje. 6

 I salute Kalabhairava, the lord of the city of Kasi,
Who has feet adorned by the shine of gem studded sandals,
Who is eternal and does not have any one second to him,
Who is our favorite God who bestows everything,
Who takes away the fear of death from humans,
And who grants them salvation by his terrible teeth.

Attahasa binna padma janda kosa santhatheem,
Drushti pada nashta papa jala mugra sasanam,
Ashtasidhi dayakam kapala malikadaram,
Kasika puradhi nadha Kalabhairavam bhaje. 7

 
I salute Kalabhairava, the lord of the city of Kasi,
Whose loud roar is enough to destroy all those created by Brahma,
Whose sight is sufficient to destroy all sins,
Who is crafty and strict ruler,
Who can grant the eight occult powers,
And who wears the garland of skulls.

 
Bhootha sanga nayakam, vishala keerthi dayakam,
Kasi vasa loka punya papa shodhakam vibum,
Neethi marga kovidham purathanam jagatpathim,
Kasika puradhi nadha Kalabhairavam bhaje. 8

  
I salute Kalabhairava, the lord of the city of Kasi,
Who is the chief of the society of Bhoothas,
Who grants broad based fame,
Who is the lord who judges good and bad deeds,
Of those who live in Varanasi,
Who is an expert in the way of righteousness,
And who is eternally old and lord of the universe.

Kalabhairavashtakam patanthi yea manoharam,
Jnana mukthi sadhanam , vichithra punya vardhanam,
Soka moha dainya lopa kopa thapa nasanam,
Thea prayanthi Kalabhairavangri saniidhim druvam. 9

Those who read this enticing octet on Kalabhairava,
Which is the source of eternal knowledge,
Which increases the effect of righteous deeds,
And which destroys grief, passion, poverty, want and anger,
Would surely reach the holy presence of Kalabhairava.

श्रीभैरवलाई भगवान शंकरको पाँचौ अवतार एवं प्रमथादि गणमध्ये एक मानिन्छ । यो स्वरूप लिएर शिवले नृसिंहलाई वशमा ल्यउनु भएको थियो । शिवको अंश भएका भैरवको शक्तिलाई भैरवी भनिन्छ ।
शुद्ध स्फटिक झै हजारौं सूर्य झौ तेजस्वी, नीलो मेघ समान, नीलप्रभायुक्त ठूला-‍ठूला दाँतले गर्दा भयानक मुख भएका, हिंडदा अनेक शब्द निकाल्ने, सर्पका मेखला धारण गर्ने, अग्निको वर्ण झै केश भएका दिगम्बर, कुमारीश एवं महाबलशाली श्रीभैरव सम्पूर्ण योगिनी, भूत-प्रेत तथा पिशाचको अधिपति हुनुहुन्छ । कालो वर्ण, दश हात र तीन नेत्र भएका श्रीभैरवले हातमा खड्ग, त्रिशुल, पासो, डमरु, खप्पर र वरदमुद्रा धारण गर्नु भएको छ । अत्यन्त क्रोधशाली एवं चौंसठ्ठी योगिनीसंगै नाच्दै हिंडने श्रीभैरवले आफ्नो वाहन कुकुरलाई सधैं साथ लिनु हुन्छ ।
भयङ्कर डरलाग्दो स्वरूप भएका श्रीभैरवलाई भूतनाथ, श्मशानवासी, मांसासी, खर्पराशि, पिंगलोचन, कंकालधारी, कपालमाली, भूतध्यक्ष, दैत्यहा, नागपाश, त्रिलोचन, दिगम्बर, योगिनीपति, आदि हजारौं नामले पुकारिन्छ ।

श्रीभैरवले आफ्नो भक्तहरूलाई सबै आपदबाट उद्धार गर्ने, सम्पूर्ण दुःख नाश गर्ने, सबै शत्रुलाई दमन गरी पीडा दिने, सम्पूर्ण रोग तथा डस-त्रासलाई नाश समन गरी अभय गरिदिनु हुन्छ । यस्ता अत्यन्त बलशाली श्रीभैरवको जसले श्रद्धा एवं प्रशन्नतापूर्वक ध्यान गरेर जप गर्दछ त्यसले बल, तेज, यश, सौभाग्य प्राप्त गर्नु साथै उसको सम्पूर्ण मनकामना पूरा हुन्छ ।
